dawn
Dawn's words of wisdom when she was little...
On getting the small plate:
Whoever gets this is "panget" except me because it is my idea... (Briliiant 😁)
On God:
Mom, does God ever sleep? No. Eh di He's tired. He is not even sleepy?
Term i used: Balasubas
Dawn: What does that mean?
Mom: it means lie down
Dawn: Mom, balasubas...
Mom: what???!!!
Dawn: sabi mo balasubas means higa 😁
On letting her smile with teeth:
"It's maliit na bagay and you problema problema pa it"
On being noisy:
Mom: Ang pagiging madaldal, sakit yan..
Dawn: But it's not masakit naman
On biscuit:
Mom: Ayaw ko nyang si biscuit. He is panget because he's black
Dawn: why you? You're black too 😁
My dear dawn is now 13 years old. Time flies.

fast
My dawn....when she was 8 months old. Now she's 3 years and 4 months. How could time fly so fast? How could that happen? I can see her everyday thinking nothings changing then all of a sudden she'd grow up and changed. Old pictures really gives us lots and lots of stories, memories and teachings.
I read in a magazine that when you are a mother, days are long and years are fast. True. and as I look at this photo...it made me think if i had hug, kiss, cuddle, love and even bite my dawn when she was at that age? I think I did. I believe I did. But my mother's instincts is telling me that I hope I can do all of it all over again....
My love, please don't grow up so fast.
mama
It's 11:28pm.if I am at home, I would havebeen sleeping by now.I can imagine my dawn putting her arms around my neck, her face so close to me that I could smell her fresh breath. Gosh I miss my little daughter....so where am I?
I'm here in the hospital, at marikina valley with my mama. The nurse let me sign her consent early this evening for her thoracostomy tomorrow. She asked me to indicate how am I related to her and I wrote on the consent form the word niece....she taught I am her daughter. She was not the first one.
I grew up with my mama.since my younger sister has cerebral palsy where she needs to stay at the hospital most of the time, my mom left I locos to stay here in manila.she left me too. I have a pleasant childhood because of my nama.when I was in kinder, I remember that every morning before we go to school, I would ask her to buy me a new pencil. She would oblidge. Yes I am spoiled and not.at night after praying we would sing songs before we go to sleep. The next day, I would throw tantrums if I would wake up without her by my side....
And that made me think last night...when was the last time that mama and I was together?
I don't want to miss you mama because I want to be always by your aide. So please God, extend your healing hand to my mama so that we can still be together. if you can, take away some of my hours, days, or even years of living on this planet earth and add it to her life.I love my mama so much Lord. Please heal her.......

summer
it's ironic that my summer, who's very good in speaking in english, was the entry for tula in the recently held ACSAC competition. i really didn't expect her to win because during her early practices, she was not that thrilled in performing. although she was able to memorize her piece, and the actions needed, i can sense that something was still missing. i can vividly remember that during one of those practices, she told me that she's not good as her kuya. i didn't boost that. in fact, it made me think...why would summer say that? did i expect too much from her?
in their last day of practice, a day before the contest, she wants to go home early but because there was much polishing to do, she was not able to. i saw summer cry. on the contest itself, summer was number one. i guess she was startled to see those three judges starring at her that she didn't talk on the first call. on the second call, she did talk...but there was no action. no movement.
i was disappointed a bit but i didn't dwell on it too much. this is not the last time after all....
there she is, standing like a quiet little girl
before the contest
thinking?
wacky! ...taken after the contest
we love you baby!

grow
Last barangay election, october 28, was Kate and Ced's birthday celebration. thank you to them that they invited my kids rain and summer to celebrate with them. one of the program's highlight was the dressing up portion of what you want to be when you grow up...it's a good thing that rain don't want to become a jeepney driver anymore (siguro nahiya kay kate =D). pilot na daw sya and my summer instantly told me that she wants to become a chef instead of a nurse.
ang cute nilang tingnan. i can't believe i already have my little pilot and little chef =D
being a mom is definitely the greatest blessing!

salad
i was cutting the camote tops one night when dad asked me kung ano daw ba ang gagawin ko sa camote tops. i told him, i'll make a salad. daddy asked me how....(parang board exams like? me how na tanung??) so i told him magpapakulo ako ng water then kapag kumulo na yung water i'll blanch the leaves. kala ko naman tama ako.....mali pala. dad told me na mawawala daw ang nutrients pag blanching kaya he taught me how to make ensaladang camote, malacanang style! hahaha
- wash first the leaves to remove dirt, et al
- you can use baking soda in removing the dirt. just let the leaves stay in water with baking soda for awhile before you rinse it
- you can also use vinegar in removing dirt. same procedure with the baking soda. rinse after.
here's for sharing...

after rinsing, place the leaves in a pan. be sure it's water free. add salt to taste. cover. fire should be in low heat.
stir the leaves occasionally. put back the cover after stirring. you can get the leaves once they are limp and water appears.

it's been awhile. i tried to write once in a while but every time i am about to post, something eventually comes up. the worst thing is that my laptop broke down but now, it's semi fixed so i'm back! =D
so for updates.....
yesterday, we went to SM Masinag to support summer's first modelling exposure. she was so shy to walk at first but perhaps, seeing the kids there walk with glee encouraged her. she did try and it was not bad for first timers! - sabi nga ni jennel, si summer talaga, manang mana sa akin =D
here are summer's pictures. i am confident to say that if they could have chosen who the miss photogenic for the day was, am sure my daughter has it! and am not just saying this because she is my daughter......of course! mother's pledge.... =D
